Talk Title: Keto Diets – Why are they so popular and why is a Vegan Keto Diet more effective?
By far the most Googled diet of 2018-2019 had been the Keto diet, promoted by celebrities, popularised in best-selling books and it has “gone viral” on social media. Touted as the magic pill to our obesity epidemic and as a cure all for everything from Type 2 diabetes, high cholesterol and high blood pressure it is probably the most popular diet ever. However there are major downsides to this diet including constipation, headaches, bad breath, and increased kidney stone incidence. In this talk Mark Doneddu shares what the scientific research shows and presents the evidence for why a Vegan Keto Diet could be a more effective solution and also presents data on how different carbohydrates can have dramatically different effects on the body.
