Clare Mann is a vegan psychologist, author and communications trainer. She runs a private vegan psychology practice in Sydney as well as working with vegans all over the world via Skype/Facetime.
She is the author of numerous books, including Vystopia: The Anguish of Being Vegan in a Non-Vegan World (2018) and her new book, Myths of Choice: Why People Won’t Change and What You Can Do About It (2019). As a passionate vegan and animal rights campaigner, she provides skills training to help advocates communicate more effectively, and animal protection organisations collaborate for increased effectiveness.

People resist change in all aspects of their lives, not just veganism. As vegans, we become frustrated that, after sharing the ethical, health and environmental consequences of people’s choices, they still don’t change.It’s essential to understand the unquestioned assumptions that underpin their decision-making By using the notion of social and cultural myths we can more easily break their trance and help people make kinder and healthier choices.In this talk, we’ll briefly examine four different but essential activism roles that occur in any social justice movement and together with understanding myths, you’ll leave feeling more empowered to play your part in creating a vegan world.
